Since beginning of the doctoral program in Mechanical Sciences (2015), researchers from the departments of Mechanical Engineering and Materials have made efforts to consolidate some research lines, through funding acquisition for research projects. So far, main financier of the research has been EPN, which has implemented an internal financing program. However, a great effort has also been directed towards obtaining external financing and research with Universities, Centers and International Laboratories.

Currently, 13 research projects are underway, which 3 have external financing and the participants are institutions from multiple regions of the world, making the internationalization of the EPN viable. Likewise, 7 proposals have been submitted for Senescyt financing, through its INEDITA2018 call and 2 proposals for financing from Belgium, through the VLIR call. In the coming weeks, some of the researchers will send proposals for the EPN2108 call, which will increase the possibilities of research funding. Table 1 shows the summary of the research projects associated with the program, separated by the origin of the funding.
