PHD DEGREE IN MECHANICAL SCIENCE

Doctoral program in Mechanical Sciences is a multidisciplinary program covering some areas: Energy, Materials and Mechanical Design. Research carried out is of fundamental character, numerical and experimental with purpose to respond the development needs of our country and of the world: power generation, development of new materials, machinery design and environment conservation. The program is focused on form a solid group of researchers with capacity of understand, formulate and solve the actual society problems.

    Jesús López occasional-professor-researcher in the department of Mechanical Engineer of the National Polytechnic School since 2016. He has spent nearly 20 years developing a professional career in the field of energy, specifically, in topics related to energy efficiency and the removable energy in buildings. In this area he has worked as a researcher, director of research projects and energy engineering, teacher, trainer, energy consultant, advisor and commercial technician. His interests are related to Low and Medium Temperature of Thermal Solar Systems, Photovoltaic Solar Systems, integration of Solar Systems in Buildings, Energy Efficiency and Air Conditioning of Buildings, Conventional Refrigeration and Solar Cooling, being carried out the main research in new refrigeration and air conditioning systems of buildings that use renewable energy sources. Currently, he also collaborates in research on the solar resource in Ecuador and atmospheric emissions of particulate material from vehicles in the city of Quito.
