PHD DEGREE IN MECHANICAL SCIENCE

Doctoral program in Mechanical Sciences is a multidisciplinary program covering some areas: Energy, Materials and Mechanical Design. Research carried out is of fundamental character, numerical and experimental with purpose to respond the development needs of our country and of the world: power generation, development of new materials, machinery design and environment conservation. The program is focused on form a solid group of researchers with capacity of understand, formulate and solve the actual society problems.

    Víctor Guerrero is a professor in the department of Materials (FIM) of the National Polytechnic School since 2004. His interest areas are related to theorical and experimental research on composites materials, nanostructured materials, multifunctional materials and intelligent structures. Application of the concepts and fundamental principles of the science and engineering of materials and nanotechnologies to the optimization of productive processors. Characterization and physical, thermal, mechanical and functional assessment of engineering and structural materials and systems, with a view to the design, generation of prototypes and product manufacturing, as well as to the design of service.
